sock weather

Back to school once again! My schedule is pretty tame this quarter, but I've been having a difficult time getting back into the swing of waking up at 7 o'clock three days a week. I'll get used to it in time.

I am finally unpacking the brand new sewing machine that my mother bought for me when I first moved out here in August. I'm excited to get back to sewing and I'm extra excited for craft week next week when Nick comes to visit! With the light layers of snow still on the ground out here, long socks have been a staple for me whenever wearing skirts or dresses and I've even taken to wearing long socks over tights on occasion. This caused me to realize, not only how fun knee-high socks can be, but how important it is for me to have many more pairs in my life. So what better time than craft week with my best friend to work on some new legwear? I plan on attempting a pair of Miu Miu-esque sequin socks and trying out Jazzi McG's Alexander Wang sock braces DIY.

dreaming of summer

There is snow everywhere and I haven't been able to leave the house without wearing rain boots, yet I cannot stop thinking about the Alexander Wang for Linda Farrow sunglasses. They're the perfect updated version of the classic cat eye. They're huge, just like I like my sunglasses, providing the perfect substitution for makeup when grabbing an early morning coffee.

too much reality tv

french connection jacket, forever21 skirt, aa tights, alice+olivia for payless wedges

Ended up leaving the store with the French Connection jacket. Although a black jacket seemed a little more realistic for me, I just couldn't walk away from the shoulders and awesome shade of yellow that this jacket offered. Just about everything else I've purchased recently has been black or gray, so this jacket will provide a nice pop of color during the next few snowy months.
A little much needed pre-new years shopping commenced with my shopping partner in crime, Jessica! We seem to complement each other well when shopping. It also helps that we wear the same size, so we end up trading clothes often or buying clothes with the intention of trading when we get tired of them. It works out pretty well.

I don't think either of us were really looking for new winter jackets, but we both happened to find a few that were too cute to pass up!

Had a great time and picked up a few awesome things that should hold me over when I go back to school. I never thought I'd miss the ave, but I guess living somewhere like Ellensburg can do that to you. Any idea who got which jacket?
